Your mission

As a platform engineering lead, you will guide and mentor a talented team while staying deeply involved in the technical architecture and implementation of cloud platform services. Your role requires maintaining balance between providing strategic technical leadership and hands-on development, ensuring the team delivers secure and scalable platform services to support our mission. Your expertise will be crucial in making architectural decisions, reviewing code, participating in systems design, and fostering a culture of technical excellence while simultaneously managing team dynamics, professional growth, and program deliverables.

This includes :

• Team and Technical Leadership : Lead and mentor the Platform Engineering team while driving planning and execution. You'll manage team capacity, support professional development, and foster a collaborative environment. As a technical leader, you'll architect cloud platform solutions, review designs, and ensure high standards for code and infrastructure quality while driving engineering best practices adoption
• Platform Development & Automation :   Take charge of developing cloud platform features and services with a strong focus on infrastructure automation. Guide API implementations and deployment strategies while ensuring platform security and compliance. You'll help establish and maintain the technical foundation and building blocks that enable our teams to work efficiently and securely to help to deliver our mission.
• Cross-Team Collaboration :   Partner with multiple teams including SRE for reliability, security for cloud platform controls, and various software development teams to ensure smooth operations. You'll support FinOps practices and manage stakeholder relationships across segment teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout the business

About us

Rivada Space Networks is deploying the first true “OuterNET™” : a global low latency point-to-point connectivity network of LEO satellites. By connecting our satellites with lasers, we will provide resellers and B2B customers with the ability to securely connect any two points on the globe with low latency and high bandwidth. The constellations, comprising 600 low-earth-orbit communications satellites, will represent a fundamental change in the availability of secure, global, end-to-end enterprise-grade connectivity for Telecom, Enterprise, Maritime, Energy and Government Services markets. Rivada Space Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rivada Networks, Inc.

Rivada is working with Terran Orbital to manufacture and SpaceX to launch our satellites. The deployment starts in 2025 with full-service launch in 2026.
