We are looking for a Senior Level Designer
to join our team as Freelancer for a short-term project.
At Super Free Games , we aim to to build, distribute, and operate best-in-class word and trivia games to be enjoyed by fans around the world. Now, we are looking for a German speaking Freelance Senior Level Designer who could support us temporarily to localize and expand our top game “ Word Collect ” to the German market.
As Senior Level Designer, you will work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to create engaging and well-balanced word puzzle game levels. Your primary focus will be on designing levels that optimize player retention, engagement, and monetization while ensuring a smooth difficulty curve. Using data-driven insights, you will analyze player behavior to refine and improve level design, making informed adjustments to enhance the overall gaming experience.
YOUR MISSION
Design engaging and challenging levels with well-structured difficulty curves to optimize player experience and retention
Utilize data analytics to refine and improve levels based on player behavior insights
Adapt and localize levels for both German and English-speaking audiences, ensuring cultural relevance
Work closely with the product team to align level design with business objectives, including retention and monetization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of level designs into the game
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in puzzle and word game design
YOUR BACKSTORY
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
Several years of professional experience in mobile game level design, particularly in puzzle or word games
Strong understanding of level difficulty balancing and its impact on player retention, engagement, and monetization
Data-driven mindset and feeling comfortable using analytics to assess level performance and make iterative improvements
Experience with localization and adapting game content for different linguistic and cultural audiences
Proficiency in level design tools such as Excel, game editors, or other relevant software
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment and strong problem-solving skills
