Job Summary

We are seeking a Hands & Feet Support Engineer to provide on-site technical support for network and IT infrastructure activities. The role involves assisting remote engineering teams with hardware installation, cabling, equipment replacement, troubleshooting, and basic configuration tasks at customer locations and data centers. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of networking, structured cabling, and hardware handling, along with strong communication and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support for network, server, and IT infrastructure activities.
  • Install, rack, stack, and cable network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Perform hardware replacement (RMA), upgrades, and component installations as directed by remote engineers.
  • Connect and verify power, console, and network cabling.
  • Assist with physical installation of racks, patch panels, cable management, and labeling.
  • Support wireless access point mounting and basic installation activities.
  • Perform basic device configuration, console access, and connectivity verification under remote guidance.
  • Capture console logs, device status, photographs, and environmental details for troubleshooting.
  • Conduct physical inspections of equipment, LEDs, cabling, and rack layouts.
  • Support site surveys, inventory verification, and asset tagging.
  • Coordinate with remote Network Operations Center (NOC), implementation teams, vendors, and customer representatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and service reports.
  • Follow customer safety, security, and change management procedures.
  • Provide support during scheduled maintenance windows, including evenings or weekends when required.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, LAN/WAN).
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and rack infrastructure.
  • Ability to identify and connect fiber optic and copper network cables.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Basic experience with console access and terminal applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow remote instructions accurately.

Preferred Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in field support, desktop support, network support, or data center operations.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network deployments or IT infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Huawei, Dell, or HPE equipment.
  • Experience working in data centers, enterprise offices, or branch locations.

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

  • CompTIA A+
  • ITIL Foundation (preferred)
