As Head of Finance in a dynamic wealthtech company post-Series D funding, you will oversee all core financial operations and play a crucial role in driving the company’s financial strategy. Financial Management and Controlling You will oversee core financial operations, including accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting, while developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models to ensure strong financial performance. Leading cost management initiatives, you will optimize resource efficiency without compromising quality or growth. Additionally, you will implement effective controlling frameworks to monitor and enhance key financial KPIs, ensuring that financial processes and systems are equipped to support rapid growth and scaling. Continuously driving process improvements, you will refine financial reporting, streamline month-end close procedures, and enhance cost management strategies to strengthen overall financial operations. Strategic Finance and Investor Relations You will work closely with the CEO on long-term financial planning and capital allocation, preparing financial analyses, models, and reports to support strategic decisions and investor relations. By providing data-driven insights, you will contribute to presentations for investors and the Board of Directors, while also supporting fundraising efforts and investor communications with detailed financial information. Compliance and Risk Management You will ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and tax requirements, including quarterly BaFin and Bundesbank reporting in collaboration with the Compliance team. Additionally, you will implement and monitor internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risk and protect company assets while proactively identifying potential financial risks and recommending effective mitigation strategies. System Optimization and Operational Efficiency You will oversee the optimization of financial systems and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability while driving automation and digitization of financial processes to support sustainable growth. Additionally, you will provide financial insights to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between financial and operational objectives. Team Leadership and Development You will lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, including one accountant and one finance manager, to ensure high performance and continuous development. By fostering a collaborative and innovative culture, you will strengthen the team’s capabilities to meet the evolving demands of a scaling organization. What you bring Background Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field—MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus. Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS. 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven expertise in financial operations, compliance, and reporting, preferably in high-growth environments. Understanding of technology-driven financial services is a plus. Experience supporting fundraising or investor relations activities is a plus. Skills and Qualifications Operational and tactical finance expertise with a focus on scaling processes in a high-growth environment. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for financial reporting and compliance. Effective communicator, able to provide accurate financial insights to stakeholders. Proficiency in financial software and enterprise systems, such as NetSuite or comparable tools, and FP&A software such as Abacum or similar. Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax frameworks, and compliance standards. Ability to work cross-functionally and support strategic initiatives led by the CEO.
