Your tasks and responsibilities will include :
- Provide our group and internal teams with advice on indirect taxes, import VAT and other tax matters related to international trade, especially via online shops and Amazon
- Provide first local tax risk assessments for VAT, sales taxes and other taxes (e.g. plastic taxes)
- Develop and implement project and process standards, standard templates and other consistent tax technical terms and provisions to ensure consistency across all tax-relevant projects in your focus area
- Monitor global developments and legal / regulatory initiatives and ensure that necessary action is taken by the group to comply with ever-changing tax regulations.
- Coordinate filing and review of tax returns, interim filings and ensure accurate and timely submission
- Support the optimization, automation and digitization of tax processes in your focus area
- Support regarding the further improvement of the Tax Compliance Management System regarding indirect taxes
- Independently manage internal and external stakeholders to push project completion
- Manage your projects end to end, including prioritising & process optimization to improve efficiency
- Review and challenge advice received by local external tax advisors and share the outcome with other stakeholders within the organisation in a way that the implications can also be comprehended by colleagues who do not have a tax background
- Partner with local finance and operations teams to ensure VAT compliance across the entire value chain as well as to understand upcoming changes to our commercial operations that need to be reflected
- Report to Global Tax Lead and other internal stakeholders to integrate tax considerations into overall business strategies
