About the FSTM

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.

Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.

Your role

Under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Abankwa, the biological laboratory technician will work in the Cancer Cell Biology and Drug Discovery group. The candidate will be in charge of :

  • Contributing to cell / biochemical experiments in research projects
  • Full management of the research lab (ordering, archiving, maintenance)

Your profile

  • Minimal degree : Bachelor's in biology / biochemistry or related field
  • Previous professional experience as biological laboratory technician in a research laboratory
  • Strong expertise in laboratory management. Skills in cell proliferation assays, molecular cloning are a must, additional knowledge with confocal microscopy and protein purification are a plus
  • Autonomous experiment planning, execution and analysis
  • Full command of MS Office software, GraphPad Prism, SnapGene; Quick IT learner
  • Fluent in English (French and / or German are an asset)
