Position Overview

As we embark on a multi-year mission to revolutionize the Design to Manufacture industry with Autodesk Fusion, we are excited to offer a pivotal role in our Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. The team you will join is spearheading the development of the Fusion compute engine, which is poised to be the foundation for future cloud-based Design and Manufacturing workflows.

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and deploying reliable, scalable, and secure web services, which will be released as service offerings within the Autodesk Platform Services. These services are utilized by a global network of developers. Your primary responsibility will be the development of a compute service that delivers comprehensive computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) functionalities via a REST API.

Your expertise in dev-ops practices will be crucial in the successful implementation and deployment of this service. The ability to design and architect robust, cloud-based solutions will be intrinsic to your role, as will your capacity to efficiently handle the demands of a dynamic, fast-paced development environment.

The successful candidate will bring a profound understanding of cloud engineering, particularly with AWS, to the team. You will also be expected to contribute to process improvements, perform code reviews, and mentor other developers, thereby fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

You will report to a Senior Software Engineering Manager.

This team works in a primarily remote-based setup, with semi-regular meetups in our Munich, Parsberg or Birmingham offices.

Responsibilities :

• Be responsible for web services of significant size and complexity which may require a high degree of ingenuity or creativity.
• Define and implement the architecture of web services, with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
• Setup and perform automatic and regular deployments of web services.
• Configure access controls and security of web services.
• Define and implement testing strategies for service deployments.
• Define and implement APIs for web services.
• Create documentation and learning materials for services and APIs.
• Actively contribute to the decision-making process and make suggestions to improve code, product, and service quality.
• Collaborate with other software architects and developers worldwide.
• Work in a team to establish and achieve development goals.
• Work with extended teams of Product Management, QA, Platform Engineering, Manufacturing Technology Consulting, etc.
