Stellenbeschreibung

Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI) is a newly established German-Ukrainian defence joint venture between Quantum Systems and Frontline Robotics, created under the Build with Ukraine initiative. For the first time, Ukrainian drones will be manufactured on an industrial scale in Europe, combining Ukrainian battlefield-proven technology with German industrial automation to create a new model of cross-border defence co-production: the German Model.

As HSSE Manager (m/f/d), you will play a key role in building and maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant working environment across our growing UAV manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) framework, ensuring that safety, environmental responsibility, and operational resilience are embedded in every aspect of our business.

Working closely with Production, Supply Chain, Flight Test, Quality, and Administration teams, you will drive a proactive safety culture while supporting the rapid growth of a state-of-the-art defence manufacturing organization.

What is your Day-to-Day Mission:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company-wide HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) management system.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal requirements related to occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and security.

  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and workplace inspections, and develop effective preventive and corrective measures.

  • Create, maintain, and improve HSSE policies, procedures, work instructions, and emergency response plans.

  • Plan and deliver training programs, safety briefings, and awareness initiatives for employees and managers.

  • Lead internal audits, compliance assessments, safety inspections, and follow-up activities to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and security incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.

  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, crisis management, and evacuation processes across the organization.

  • Collaborate with government authorities, occupational safety agencies, insurance associations, and external service providers.

  • Advise managers and employees on all HSSE-related matters and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Develop, monitor, and analyze HSSE KPIs and prepare reports and management reviews to support informed decision-making.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a comparable technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HSSE, HSE, Occupational Safety, or a related compliance function, ideally within manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive, or other high-tech industries.

  • Proven experience establishing and improving management systems and driving a strong safety culture in a growing organization.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legal regulations, industry standards, and management systems related to health, safety, security, and environmental compliance.

  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style with a hands-on approach.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership presence, confidence in decision-making, and a proactive mindset.

  • Professional communication skills in English or German; Ukrainian language skills are a significant advantage.
