As a Contract Field Engineer, you will collaborate with a talented team and dive into challenging technical problems to meet tight deadlines associated with on-site deployment of autonomous robotic systems. This position requires a unique combination of flexibility, ownership, oversight, creativity, innovation, leadership, bias for action, as well as effective communication skills.
You will be expected to arrive onsite at your assigned Fulfillment Center daily for the duration of your contract. The amount of travel involved will depend on an individual’s site assignment and home location.
*There is a strict policy to limit excess travel, so it is important to be flexible around an assignment (this means remaining local if more cost effective). Travel expenses are fully reimbursed with timely submission of these expenses is required following any week of travel.
Overview:
•The TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) Field Engineer supports testing and temporary tasks acting as an RME technician.
•This Field Engineer role is responsible for troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and hardware changes during Vulcan Beta phases.
•Field Engineer assignments/projects can differ in scope, size, and length, so flexibility is key
Key Responsibilities for Field Engineer:
•Field Engineers will follow Service Level agreements (SLAs), each specifying critical product launch requirements and required onsite testing that needs to be completed to support successful product launch activities over to operations teams within fulfillment centers.
•Participate in mandatory training(s) as provided through existing TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) team members and/or customer.
•Perform day-to-day testing and resolve issues during execution.
•Conduct Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures on workcells.
•Perform preventative maintenance and hardware changes independently.
•Troubleshoot workcells and create documentation tickets.
•Support and reverse shadow RME technicians during Beta.
•Communicate and escalate onsite issues to Product Managers and Program Leaders.
•Audit roles and processes onsite, identifying areas for improvement and simplification.
•Support operations in training and defining best practices.
•Contribute to weekly testing reports and collect Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback for product/process improvements.
•Embody the Leadership principles in every facet of the position
Basic qualifications:
•Experience in operations leadership or product launch environments
•Strong communication and coordination skills
•BS degree in operations management, engineering, mechatronics or related field involving robotics
•Hands-on Experience with troubleshooting and repairs
•Ability to perform LOTO and follow safety protocols
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•Experience in robotics or automated systems
•Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve in a fast-paced setting
•Ability to work independently within large teams in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to manage competing priorities (prioritize tasks throughout the day)
•Ability to be adaptable and flexible (open to change and frequent updates to workplace requirements)
•Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings

Preferred qualifications:
•Prior success in high-pressure, fast-paced environments demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills a plus
•Previous Experience leading/coordinating operations teams in engineering/manufacturing (or similar) environments
•Experience working in technical environments is a plus (working in manufacturing, construction, automotive and/or relatable engineering environment is preferred)
•Ability to coach and mentor with a desire to learn, lead, and grow
Important to know:
•This project supports a high-pressure environment/tightly managed projects
•Any requested Overtime (OT) will be managed through the TGS management team
OT hours are limited by the client, therefore any work that is requested over a traditional week must route through a formal approval process (this will be reviewed upon hire)
•Work occurs in an active construction zone; PPE is required within this environment.
•Expect to be on your feet all day, with lots of walking and carrying of your laptop required
•Need to be comfortable escalating issues and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment
