Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, GermanyDarmstadt, GermanyYour roleAs a PhD student (all genders) in Global Drug Product Development, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on implementing Artificial Neural Networks into the development of solid oral dosage forms. Your primary goal will be to develop and test models to predict tablet compression processes using Recurrent Neural Networks. Your work in the labs will include the manufacturing of granules and tablets, detailed process analysis as well as generation and application of in-silico models.The results of your project will be shared by you through presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, your role involves close collaboration within cross-functional teams, ranging from internal to academic partners, e.g., in interdisciplinary consortia. Who you are : Master / Staatsexamen or equivalent degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Pharmacy / or Chemical Engineering with strong pharmaceutical focusFirst experiences (e.g., through internships) in the pharmaceutical development of orally applied dosage forms within the industry or academiaDeep knowlegde of statistics, especially regression modelsBasic knowledge in programming (e.g., Python)Excellent team player with proactive mindset taking personal accountability for delivery of resultsOutstanding presentation and organization skillsFluent English and German skills and effective oral and written communication skills
