Stellenbeschreibung

Job Description

Launched in 2020, the GLFx network brings together more than 60 locally rooted organizations and community-led chapters across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Representing diverse landscapes, ecosystems, and knowledge systems, these organizations respond to climate change, biodiversity loss, and inequality through restoration, conservation, advocacy, ecopreneurship, and collective action, while strengthening local livelihoods, cultural heritage, and community knowledge systems.

Through the GLF’s global ecosystem of partners, GLFx chapters engage in trust-based and equity-centered collaboration, benefiting from peer learning, networking, media visibility, participation in regional and global events, and access to funding and partnership opportunities that support locally led landscape action.

The GLFx Global Coordinator will serve as the global focal point for the GLFx network, with a special focus on the Africa region, leading the strategic coordination, growth, and strengthening of the initiative across regions. Working within the Community & Action team, including in close collaboration with the Youth program, and alongside regional officers and the Learning, Knowledge, Digital Communications, and Sustainable Finance teams, the coordinator will support the effective implementation of the GLFx strategy and contribute to building a vibrant, connected, and action-oriented global community rooted in landscapes.

The GLFx Coordinator will work closely with the following team members:

  • GLF Program Manager, Community & Action
  • GLF Community & Action team members
  • GLF Learning, Knowledge, and Digital Communications teams
  • GLF Sustainable Finance team

· GLF Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America regional hubs

· Landscape Alliance scientists and GLF Charter Members

Summary of responsibilities

1. Strategy development and global coordination

  • Lead the implementation and continuous development of the GLFx strategy, ensuring alignment of GLFx program activities with the broader GLF and Landscape Alliance agenda.
  • Ensure GLFx integration and collaboration among GLF programs, including Youth, Learning, Knowledge, Digital Communications, Sustainable Finance, and Administration.
  • Coordinate the global GLFx ecosystem across regions (Africa, Asia-Pacific, LAC), ensuring both quantitative and qualitative growth and community ownership.
  • Ensure strong co-creation and consultation processes with chapters, local organizations, and the GLFx Steering Committee to inform the program’s priorities and decisions.
  • Guide the development and delivery of flagship programs (learning journeys, hubs, mentorship, grant calls, media collaborations, etc.), knowledge products, and global and regional activities, such as workshops, training, exchanges, assemblies, and conferences.
  • Lead and oversee chapter selection, onboarding, and engagement processes, and ensure compliance with the GLFx governing terms and membership guidelines.
  • Lead and support Community and Action regional and thematic officers, fostering collaboration, alignment, and effective communication.

2. Community engagement, visibility, and representation

  • Guide the development of practices and processes that support chapters’ local organizations in fostering a sense of belonging, a shared identity, cross-landscape collaboration, and a collective voice for landscape restoration.
  • Coordinate with Digital Communications and Knowledge teams to strengthen visibility of GLFx chapters across platforms (website, newsletters, campaigns, etc.) and amplify narratives of local agency and leadership.
  • Oversee engagement plans, messages, and activities to foster connections and collaboration among chapters and the wider GLF community and partners’ network.

3. Impact-oriented partnerships, fundraising, and progress monitoring

  • Foster partnerships between GLFx chapters, GLF Charter Members, Landscape Alliance scientists, donors, and regional partners.
  • Develop, lead, and maintain relationships with both new and existing strategic partners and donors to ensure the GLFx program is recognized, amplified, and supported by partners.
  • Contribute to funding opportunities and resource mobilization efforts, including proposal development, donor coordination, and reporting.
  • Identify, connect with, and coordinate with LANDSCAPE ALLIANCE networks to ensure technical support and evidence-based approaches are applied in GLFx activities.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, and impact assessment (MELIA) processes, including tracking KPIs, impact indicators, lessons learned, and generating impact stories.
  • Prepare and manage annual work plans and budgets, ensuring transparent and strategic use of resources.

Requirements
• University degree in a field relevant to one or more of the GLF themes and sustainable development goals. • At least 5 years of professional experience in community engagement, international development, partnership coordination, landscape restoration, youth engagement, network management, Indigenous Peoples, youth-led movements, or related contexts combining grounded field experience with regional or global coordination and digital collaboration processes. • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate complex projects, considering the wide scope of dimensions within the landscape approach and those related to community organizing and engagement. • Previous experience coordinating multicultural and geographically dispersed teams and partnerships. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate complex processes across time zones and cultural contexts, designing and implementing community engagement, learning, or networking initiatives at regional or global levels. • Experience managing grants, donor-funded activities, budgets, and reporting processes is an asset. • Fluency in English is required, and at least one additional language, particularly French, Portuguese, or Spanish.
