One of the research focuses of the Department Center for Information Services and High Performance Computing (ZIH) at the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS) is digital data. As a partner in several consortia of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) initiative, for example, ZIH conducts research on data management and heads the national competence center for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Dresden / Leipzig. The ZIH offers a position as part of the DFG Collaborative Research Center / Transregio : "DegeneratIon of Bone Induced by Inflammation (DIONE)" as
Research Associate for research data and information infrastructures (m / f / x)
subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting April 1, . The position is limited until December 31, (planned total duration 12 years). The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (usually PhD).
The CRC / Transregio is concerned with research on the relation between inflammatory diseases and bone loss and fractures. The aim of ZIH is to set up a virtual research environment for the management and analysis of the research data and to support the researchers.
Tasks :
scientific research and development in the context of IT infrastructures for data collection and data management in medical research
coordination and analysis of the requirements for the use of IT for data management by researchers at the Dresden and Erlangen sites
designing and implementing a virtual research environment in collaboration with medical researchers
conducting training and further education for the developed IT infrastructure
close interdisciplinary cooperation with the scientists in the consortium and with the Service Center Research Data at TUD.
Requirements :
university degree in computer science, bioinformatics or a comparable natural or engineering science
experience in programming and software development Python, C++)
high degree of independence, commitment, flexibility and team spirit
very good English language skills
knowledge in the field of (research) data management.
