Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Supporting the category of contract manufacturing for various divisions in Europe, managing suppliers, conducting assessments and audits and take care of the assured supply throughout the upstream and downstream supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting regular spend reviews with External Manufacturing
- Monitor, report and analyze spend and saving opportunities
- Contracts and negotiations with contract manufacturing suppliers
- Sourcing alternative and new, competitive suppliers and lead new product implementations for External Manufacturing
- Follow guidelines for the category, subcommodities and strategies
- Lead outsourcing projects in alignment with the business needs
- Negotiate and manage contracts
- Create and update negotiated price lists through SAP info records, source lists and quantity contracts
- Develop cost reduction opportunities and projects and assure business alignment
- Supporting the development of category strategies for EM (e.g. cable assemblies, circuit board assemblies, connector assemblies, copper cable and products) gathering and providing market insight, benchmark saving results across regions
- Assure compliance to buying and payment policies
- Organize assessments and audits to assure quality and processes compliance of the EM's
- Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers, including performance results based on KPI's and internal feedback with a cross functional team (PLM, SC, EM, PE)
- Own and manage supplier relationship
- Onboarding and training for EM’s on sustainability, supply chain etc
