Alpine Business Consulting is currently supporting a logistics client that needs to fix its reporting and planning systems. The logistics industry relies on thin margins and precise timing, yet our client has been struggling with financial data that does not match between departments. We have been brought in to clean up the existing tools and create a single source of truth for their finance team. To help manage the coordination and documentation of this project, we are adding a Project Coordinator Intern to our team for a full-time, remote position.
About Alpine Business Consulting We are a specialized consultancy that focuses on enterprise performance management (EPM). We often work with companies that have spent significant money on tools like Oracle EPM or SAP BPC, only to find the implementation was handled poorly. When numbers do not balance or the month-end close takes two weeks, we step in to fix the configuration. We do not believe in fluff or long, open-ended engagements that never seem to finish. Our approach is based on transparency and predictability. We provide fixed-price quotes and emphasize building systems that the client can actually maintain after we leave. Our team consists of experienced professionals who prefer doing the work right the first time over using client projects as training grounds for junior staff.
The role As a Project Coordinator Intern, your job is to keep the logistics client engagement moving smoothly. This is a fully remote role where you will support our consultants by managing the day to day logistics of project tasks. You will not be expected to have deep technical knowledge of EPM systems on arrival, but you will be responsible for tracking our progress against the project schedule. You will act as a central point for organizing documentation and ensuring that the internal team and the client are aligned on what happens next. This is a paid internship that offers a competitive rate for the market and provides a direct view into how complex business transformations are managed without the usual corporate overhead.
What you will do - Monitor project schedules and update internal tracking tools as milestones are met for the logistics client project.
- Assist consultants in drafting and organizing configuration guides that are easy for the client to follow.
- Coordinate internal meetings and record clear, actionable notes that focus on solving specific technical blocks.
- Maintain the project library to ensure all documentation is current and reflects the most recent system changes.
- Help prepare regular status reports that provide an honest look at progress and potential risks.
- Support the handover phase by gathering all necessary training materials and final system guides.
- Work with the team to ensure that every project follows our commitment to a single source of truth for data.
- Help manage the communication flow between different workstreams to prevent duplicate work.
What we are looking for - Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Business, Information Systems, or Project Management program.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of many small tasks at once without losing focus.
- Familiarity with standard productivity software like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets.
- Clear writing skills and an interest in creating documentation that is actually helpful to the reader.
- A professional attitude and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Curiosity about how large companies manage their finances and reporting systems.
- Reliable internet access and the ability to coordinate across different time zones when needed.
- A preference for plain language and direct communication over corporate buzzwords.
What the role offers This internship provides a practical introduction to technical project management within a professional consultancy. We offer a remote work environment where your performance is measured by the quality of your work rather than hours spent at a desk. Because we operate with a lean team, you will see the entire lifecycle of a project, from the initial fixed-price quote to the final handover. You will learn how to structure documentation and how to manage client expectations when high-stakes financial systems are being rebuilt. The position is paid at a competitive rate that reflects the responsibilities of the role.
Working at Alpine Business Consulting We pride ourselves on being the team that fixes what others could not. Our work is often about correcting the shortcuts taken during initial implementations. This means we value precision and honesty above all else. If a project is behind schedule or a configuration is not working, we say so plainly. We avoid the typical corporate hierarchy and instead focus on getting the work done. Every team member, including interns, is expected to prioritize the client's long-term independence. We do not want them to need us forever; we want them to have a reliable system and the guides to run it themselves.
