Job Overview
The United States Army Medical Materiel Center-Europe’s (USAMMCE) mission is to provide the best medical logistics support to the U.
S. European Command. USAMMCE’s missions also include out-of-sector support to the Department of State Humanitarian Assistance Program, the U.
S. Central Command in Southwest Asia, and AFRICOM.
The Supply Technician Hazmat Certifier certifies cargo for both Air and Ground movement internationally across Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
The Hazardous Medical Material Certifier makes, sees and informs hazmat certifiers of any corrections to the appropriate and required forms.
Education / Degree : High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certification : Valid Hazardous Material certification such as HAZ 15 (U.S. Army certification) or a valid Dangerous Goods Officer (DGO) certificate issued by qualified German authorities.
Experience :
- Experience with U.S. military transportation systems and programs, i.e. Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS), Next Generation Delivery Service (NGDS), Global Harmonization System (GHS), Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) and Air Force Mobility Command (AMC).
- Experience with movement of hazardous goods and materials in the European Union.
Knowledge and Skills :
- Working knowledge of transportation systems and programs i.e. CMOS, NGDS, GHS, Transcom, and Air Force Mobility Command AMC
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Being able to understand German is preferred
- Able to pass a background check
- Be computer literate
- Able to lift up to approximately 35lbs for short distances
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to) :
Prepares shipping documents for hazardous cargo, inspects, validates, certifies, and approves cargo for movement. Working knowledge of transportation systems and programs, i.
e. CMOS, NGDS, GHS, TRANSCOM and Air Force Mobility Command AMC.
Maintains certifier status for dangerous goods packing, inspecting, shipping, prepares documentations and coordinates dangerous goods movement.
