Job description
The KarlsruheIntegrated Atmospheric Observation System (KIAOS) is a modular research
infrastructure at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The observation
platform can be flexibly adapted and expanded depending on the scientific
question at hand - both for short-term campaigns and for long-term
observations. A key feature of KIAOS is the integration and coordinated further
development of the four already established KIT infrastructures (AIDA, CARIBIC,
KITcube, and TERENO) in conjunction with an innovative research data
management. You will be responsible for the establishment, operation, and
strategic development of the research
infrastructure. Concerning the KIAOS process management, your responsibilities
will include the management of the KIAOS team, infrastructure controlling, and
committee support. In communications, you will represent KIAOS internally and
externally and maintain an intensive network with cooperation partners and
other stakeholders.

Personal qualification
You have a
university degree (master's / diploma (University)) and a natural sciences doctorate
in a relevant field. You have several years of experience in scientific
organization, project management, the operation or administration of large
research infrastructures, and the organization of measurement campaigns. You
have expertise in dealing with complex measurement infrastructures and
scientific standards, as well as experience in the field of research data
management. In addition, you are distinguished by your strong organizational
and communication skills, your ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, and
your excellent German and English language skills.
