Operations Director
Role Overview
The role oversees all operational aspects of the factories production strategy, setting strategic goals and KPIs with responsibility for the management of people and processes across the different departments of the plants (production, maintenance, scheduling, WH), including driving health and safety, quality, efficiencies, continuous improvement, best practice, ethics, food safety and sustainability.
This is a varied role, both strategical and functional, with a strong emphasis on facilitating long term success.
Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with North Europe COO and other company leaders on manufacturing and continuous improvement strategy, formulating, and ensuring delivery of his Hub of factories strategy in line with business objectives
- Drive Health & Safety across the factories with the mindset Safety first , always ensuring best practice and legal compliance.
- To drive all performance improvements Roadmap building for his factories : Safety & Continuous Improvements methods and tools deployment, projects implementation, workshops, etc.
In this he aligns and collaborates with North Cluster CI manager and BI global organisation.
- To make sure that all employees are working in accordance to work safety instructions and standards
- To make sure that the production in done on time and with the quality according to the business requirements. Leads and coordinates the team to take the needed corrective actions in case of delays or non-conformity of the products.
- To manage the industrial investment budget for his factories in the frame and according to the procedures decided by the management board of the company to make sure that the main factory indicators are reported regularly by his direct staff to himself and the North Europe and BI global leadership.
Person Profile
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
- A good understanding of the critical paths associated with running a dynamic business, including delivering projects on time and on budget, working around 'blockers’ and finding ways around supply chain issues and doing what it takes to deliver.
- Strong financial acumen (OPEX costs , cash flow, CAPEX spend) with the ability to understand manufacturing overall cost structure and cost drivers and work collaboratively with the financial teams.
- A first-class communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivated.
- In personal terms, you will possess integrity, emotional intelligence, initiative, energy and be uncompromising on quality standards.
A robust personality must be in evidence - someone of stature, strong enough to gain instant credibility internally and externally.
- Be visible across the business, building relationships and developing an understanding of the business processes to drive valuable insight and deliver transformational process improvement.
- A master at Continuous Improvement initiatives and ways of working, preferably with a recognised qualification in this area such as Six Sigma.
- Comfortable working autonomously and challenging business senior leaders.
- Strategically and operationally, working closely with all the teams.
