Community Manager (Full-Time)

42 Wolfsburg is a higher education NGO / start-up educating up to 600 students to become cutting-edge techies and software engineers in a practice-based peer-learning environment.

42 Wolfsburg is based on the internationally successful concept of Ecole 42 which was founded 2013 in Paris and today trains 18 000+ students in 54 schools all over the world.

Tasks

As Community Manager of 42 Wolfsburg you will focus on creating the framework that will allow a safe, diverse and inclusive, fun, inspiring and compassionate community of students to grow and flourish, enabling the students to thrive in the 42 Curriculum.

You will start working with our applicants (Pisciners) during their selection month (Piscine) and be an important pillar during their whole student journey.

You will report to the Pedagogy Lead and your role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities :

• Own all community events for Students and Pisciners.
• Facilitate and coordinate Student Club activities by coordinating with your colleagues in the Pedagogy-Team regarding contents and rules, and the Operations-Team regarding resources and facilities (for example Fablab or other locations).
• Own and facilitate the central communication channels between the student body and staff - such as the monthly community meeting where important information is shared, events are announced and students have the ability to share their thoughts and ideas.

This includes post-meeting work like Zoom account management and the sharing of important documents with the students.

• Own and facilitate the Gamified aspect of the 42 Pedagogy, in collaboration with the Pedagogy Lead, for Pisciners and for Students : coalitions tournament, achievements, intra shop (including owning the Student Merch budget).
• Coordinate with Front Desk to ensure that the day-to-day procedures and rules are followed by all students using the school facilities.

This includes owning the community services rules, coordinating with the whole team to ensure everyone helps enforce the rules, and with Front Desk to execute the community service.

Own the onsite onboarding for Pisciners and Students. This includes all processes around our on-site ID-check, documentation for building access as well as safety and house rule communication.

Must-have :

• Right to live and work in Germany,
• Strong identification with the mission of 42 as well as some experience in a 42 school as student or staff,
• Fluent in both written and verbal English,
• Friendly, kind, helpful, proactive, and flexible personality,

Nice-to-have :

• You completed the 42 Common Core,
• Previous experience in community management or in a learning organisation,
• German and / or other languages skills (considering our diverse international student community with 50+ nationalities).
