What you will do
As Head of Corporate Communications, you will belong to the leadership of Fraunhofer HHI and will report directly to the institute director.
With the backing of a small highly skilled department, you will assist with the promotion and dissemination of the institute’s most innovative research and technologies.
Your tasks in detail :
Developing and implementing a communication strategy for the Institute
Monitoring the internal and external web presence, as well as the social media
Representation of the institute both internally and externally (e.g. presentations at events)
Maintaining a professional network (e.g. members of politics, the press, scientific institutions and public funding bodies)
Drafting and editing documents (e.g. press releases)
Management of an operational team dedicated to graphic and web development (front and back end)
What you bring to the table
A university degree in economics, journalism, or a comparable liberal arts subject
A focus on science communication is an advantage
Alternatively, a university degree in physics, electrical engineering, or computer science with subsequent professional experience in science communication
A diverse professional network, including contacts in politics, press, scientific institutions, and public funding bodies
Leadership and management experience
An excellent command of spoken and written German and English
An appreciation for communication concepts and strategies
The ability to digest complex, jargon heavy scientific content and to present it in a comprehensible way to a non-specialist audience is advantageous
Good command of MS Office programs (especially PowerPoint)
Experience with content management systems (e.g., Typo3 and Wordpress) is an advantage

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.
The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
