Google Cloud Architect (Geospatial Data & Google Earth Engine)
Job Description : Our clients are seeking a Google Cloud Architect with experience in Geospatial Data and Google Earth Engine to join their team on a freelance basis.
You will help design and implement a cloud architecture tailored for geospatial data processing, creating interactive map-based dashboards, and optimizing resource usage on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and build scalable solutions for processing and managing geospatial data on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
- Collaborate on backend architecture with the team, learning from experienced team members.
- Integrate geospatial data into interactive dashboards and ensure smooth data flow to and from maps.
- Manage and optimize the use of Google Cloud credits , ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Use Google Earth Engine to handle geospatial workflows, including data retrieval, analysis, and visualization.
- Create workflows to efficiently receive and process results from users, including integrating AppSheet solutions.
- Piece together workflows using Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis, model retraining, and automation of tasks.
- Handle challenges related to strict budget constraints while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Budget management requiring efficient use of Google Cloud resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- 6+ years of experience with GCP architecture and solutions.
- Knowledge of BigQuery or other SQL-based decision-making processes.
- Experience with integrating and working with dashboards and interactive maps .
Nice to Have :
- Experience with Geospatial Data handling and processing.
- Hands-on experience with Google Earth Engine .
- Knowledge of DuckDB , GeoParquet , Zarr , COG (Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFs), or PostGIS .
- Familiarity with AppSheet and experience integrating user-facing solutions.
- Experience in Jupyter Notebooks for data science workflows, model retraining, and automation
