Regional Transport Director
Subsidiary of Rail Logistics Europe (SNCF Group) and one of the most important european actor in the multimodal transport field, NAVILAND CARGO is specialized in combined transport (mostly rail / road) of maritime containers and provide pure road transport solutions for its customers as well.
We are actively looking for our new Regional Transport Manager who will take in charge our agencies in Strassburg, Duisburg and Hamburg.
The job can be located in Duisburg or Hamburg.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Regional Director is responsible for the direct (managerial) or indirect (subcontracted) management of the agencies under his / her responsibility.
He / she is involved in the operational, commercial, managerial, Quality / Security and administrative aspects of his / her agencies.
In operational terms, he / she is responsible for :
- Participating in the implementation of the Transport Plan and monitoring it on a daily basis
- Ensuring that operations run smoothly and constantly adjusting resources in line with production requirements
- Applying road subcontracting purchasing rules
- Compile dispute files
He / She Manages several sites. As such, he / she :
- Ensures the development of the local customer portfolio in support of regional sales for the combined and pure road activities
- Maintains a dynamic approach to the profitability of operational and commercial activities, safety, quality and the well-being of employees, and involve staff in achieving the targets set
- Ensures the recruitment, induction, integration and training of new recruits at their place of work
REQUIRED PROFILE :
- Significant experience in operational management within a transport company : road transport haulage, a transport department of a forwarding agency or a shipping company.
- Ideally a road + rail profile. If it's not possible to have both, road profile at least
- Experience in land transport of maritime containers strongly desirable
- Previous experience in multi-site management would be a plus.
- Commercial skills required to develop the agencies's customer and haulier portfolios
- Criminal record extract or certificate of honour required
- German + French fluently speaking are mandatory + English (technical level but willing to improve it)
