Job Advertisement : Test Engineer – Wind Tunnel & Propulsion

Location : On-site in Germany (1 day of home office per week possible during test-free periods)

Duration : 18-month contract (with potential for permanent conversion)

Candidate needs to have rights to work in Germany

About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our Propulsion Testing team. In this role, you will take charge of end-to-end test campaigns focused on wind tunnel testing and propulsion systems. From test request assessment to final reporting, you will play a key part in shaping innovative aerospace technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with design teams to refine test requests.
  • Prepare and execute wind tunnel and other propulsion test campaigns.
  • Design test and measurement setups, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate technicians, suppliers, and support teams.
  • Lead hands-on test executions and analyze post-test data.
  • Provide feedback for design improvements.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture in the lab environment.

Requirements :

  • Education : Degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering (M.Sc. / M.Eng preferred).
  • Experience :
  • Strong background in propulsion testing (wind tunnel experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in measurement methods and instrumentation .
  • Skilled in data analysis and post-processing .
  • Familiarity with testing multi-kW electrical machines and CAD systems (Siemens NX) is a bonus.
  • Skills :
  • Fluent in English (German or other languages are a plus).
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Travel : Willingness to travel within Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands (up to 15%).
