One of our clients has retained us to find an experienced Global IT Applications leader. It is a VP role that will lead the IT Applications organization while also actively participating in the architecture and deployment of their strategic IT / OT convergence and business transformation programs.

The Role
The VP - IT Applications & Architecture will be an active participant in developing, implementing, and managing information technology strategies and initiatives.
The position will be responsible for leading the Global IT Applications function which drives operational excellence, through simplification, standardization, automation, optimization and security.
The VP - IT Applications is responsible for Global IT Systems including ERP (SAP), HRIS, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Digital Control Systems, Industrial Control Systems, Interfaces, Business Warehouse and Data Analysis, Financial Consolidation and other systems required to run their global integrated business.
- Leading and inspiring a team of 100+ IT professionals and IT contractors responsible for the continuing enhancement, and platform maintenance while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and controls
- Acting as the technology partner for both IT and businesses teams across the organization
- Planning, establishing, and realizing the global IT Applications technology roadmap
- Establishing global standards for IT Applications across the company
- Managing necessary upgrades and enhancement of existing applications
- Planning and managing the budget processes for IT projects, maintenance, expense management
- Participating in the global implementation of the companys strategic IT / OT converge program.

Qualifications
- Must have at least 10 years of experience managing IT teams responsible for architecture, systems development, systems support, compliance and automation
- Must have experience working for a global company in the Chemicals, Mining, or Oil & Gas (upstream) industries and experience managing globally dispersed teams
- Must have at least 10 years of experience with SAP ERP solutions
- Must have experience in developing and leading Business Transformation initiatives
- Must have experience managing Application Managed Services outsourcing partners
- Must have a broad understanding of key business functions including production, maintenance, quality, commercial, finance, supply chain and HR
- Must have a collaborative management style. Ability to manage, coach, mentor and develop employees is a critical ingredient.
- Must have an excellent understanding of, and interest in, current and emerging technologies
- Must be an excellent team player - collaborates well with others to solve problems
- Must have excellent analytical skills - strong problem-solving skills; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
- Must be change oriented - actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
- Must be able to travel 10%-20% (domestic and international travel)
- A Bachelors Degree. Masters degree a plus
