Data Scientist - Risk Design (f/m/d)
Your area of scope
Eurex Clearing faces various types of risk and has comprehensive risk management policies and services in place to promote integrity, transparency, efficiency, and the safety of financial markets.
The CCP risk management department is responsible to define these policies and effectively operate related procedures.
The Risk Design team within the CCP Risk Management department conceptualizes, implements, and maintains processes around the integration of change into the risk management framework.
In addition, the team takes a leading role in the design of functional architecture implemented in numerous infrastructure projects enabling professional risk management of Counterparty Credit and other adjacent risks today and in the future.
In your role as Data Scientist you will drive the organizations adoption of modern solutions for data and analytics.
Your responsibilities
- Collect, Process, and analyse datasets to provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Design reusable data and analytics solutions catering a broad set of risk management use cases
- Create and manage data products and provide data pipelines for clean, transformed datasets ready for use by risk analysts and other business users in self-service mode
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations for recurring and ad hoc analytics tasks
- Collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the risk department to address data related challenges
- Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure the data quality is aligned with the organizations risk appetite
- Engage with clients and client-facing teams to ensure implemented solutions are aligned with customer needs
- Provide training and support to team members on data related tools and technologies
Your profile
- M.Sc. or PHD in a quantitative or economical discipline (Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Financial Engineering, or any other comparable field)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in risk management with focus on data and analytics
- Sound knowledge of financial instruments (ETD, OTC, cash market), valuation methods and market risk management methods
- Familiarity with the CCP business model is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving as well as communication skills
- Ability to effectively explain insights generated from complex data sets
- Proficiency in common tech stack and programming languages employed in the context of data and analytics (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Git, Hadoop, Docker, Spark, Data Governance and Cataloguing tools, )
- High commitment, motivation, hands-on attitude, and willingness to take on responsibility
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional German language skills will be an asset
