About this role
At Novocarbo, we work as a team to solve one of the most important problems of our time : our goal is to store 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually, making a significant contribution to achieving climate goals .
We are one of the largest producers and distributors of biochar in Europe and sell our Carbon Removal Credits to renowned companies worldwide.
Several new sites for the production of biochar and regenerative heat are already in planning. To continue this positive momentum, we are looking for a Carbon Accounting Manager (all genders).
This position is crucial for evaluating sustainability parameters of our projects and products to enable our carbon credit sales and will play a valuable role in the company’s growth.
Following tasks are in focus of your role
You own and steer cross-functional projects to generate Carbon Credits, update Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and evaluate our products (biochar-based or Heat-as-a-Service) through calculating i.
e. Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs).
You maintain Novocarbo data in various registries (like Puro.earth and CSI) and are responsible for the correct transfer and reporting of credits incl.
the reservation management and the retiring process.
You conduct registration as well as necessary (re-)audits of new and existing Carbon Removal Parks to continuously enable Novocarbo to ensure legal compliace with national and international legislation.
If neccessary, you engage with external advisors.
- You handle and evaluate RFPs for Carbon Credit sales and actively engage with our prospective clients.
- You independently evaluate Carbon Credit market trends by conducting continuous market research and competitor analysis and report accordingly to our Chief Carbon Officer / C-Level.

Your profile
These are your professional qualifications we’d appreciate :
- You have a Bachelor’s degree (minimum Bachelor) in Business Administration, Economics, Sustainability Management or a related field.
- You have 1-2 years of working experience, preferably in a customer centric environment (trading, sales, marketing or customer support).
Ideally you have already worked in Carbon Accounting.
- You are familiar with terms like carbon neutrality, Netzero and Life Cycle Assessments and are able to assess scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
- You have a high IT-tool affinity : we mainly work with MS 365 as well as Notion and HubSpot.
- You communicate fluently in English, preferably also in German. Any other language is a plus.

- You have a good understanding of complex environments and growing industries, such as the Carbon Removal and Biochar Market and are passionate about climate-tech, sustainability and circular economy.
- You use a strong, data-driven and analytical mindset to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics as well as identifying and solving problems.
- You are talented in shaping processes, creating documentations and looking for continuous improvements of your work.
- You enjoy working with external stakeholders, conducting consultation meetings or first sales calls as well as presenting the outcomes of your work to your stakeholders (internal and external).
- Working in a team motivates you and sharing success is what you strive for.
