Backend Engineer - Ruby/Rails (m/f/d)

dentolo is one of the fastest-growing insurance scale-ups in Europe and we are now looking for a Backend Engineer (Ruby / Rails).

Your role in a team :

• Work with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and other technologies. We don't expect you to be familiar with all of them beforehand.
• Work in a team and shape the features to make dentolo an outstanding product.
• Apply Agile and Lean principles in your work.
• Pair with other developers on solution implementation and collaborate through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
• Working with product and design to analyze requirements and decide on technical solutions.
• Ensure that we have adequate testing mechanisms in place on all levels of the application and process.
• Monitor your deployed code.

What you need to be successful :

• Advanced experience with Ruby and RoR.
• Experience with API and interaction with client applications.
• Experience with (relational) databases.
• Experience working with web applications and different architectural patterns.
• Experience in a product engineering environment is preferred.
• Very good understanding of testing strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach.
• You are located in Germany, ideally in Berlin, or willing to relocate here.

Nice to have :

Experience with front-end development : JavaScript (React)
