What you ll do

SAP Design is seeking a Design Manager (f / m / d) to lead a team within the Web Design Systems organization, a team that influences design across the entire company.

The Design System plays a crucial role in shaping the design strategy and user experience for all SAP products by ensuring consistency, scalability, and innovation throughout the product portfolio.

In this role you will drive design excellence and lead efforts to implement cohesive, scalable solutions across SAP’s products.

Your leadership will foster innovation while advocating for the strategic value of a unified design system that serves the company’s diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a design team, driving project execution and deliverables using agile methodologies
• Ensure design excellence by providing strong visual design direction, refining details, and maintaining high aesthetic standards
• Advocate for visual consistency, accessibility, and usability across all designs
• Foster a culture of collaboration and growth within the design team and across the organization through mentorship, feedback, and design reviews
• Collaborate with designers, developers, marketers, and product managers to align on user needs and behaviors
• Champion the value of a cohesive design system, ensuring consistency in design patterns and components across platforms
• Analyze complexity, simplify workflows, identify the right problems to solve
• Translate user research into compelling design solutions, guiding projects from concept to final implementation
• Create essential UX artifacts such as prototypes, workflows, design patterns, and design specifications
• Present design work effectively to stakeholders and lead team reviews and discussions
• Advocate for human-centered design principles in all stages of the design process

What you bring

• 7+ years of experience in UI / UX design, including creating mockups, prototypes, and documenting interaction patterns
• Strong visual design skills, with a proven ability to deliver aesthetically compelling and pixel-perfect designs
• Deep understanding of design systems and experience implementing scalable design patterns across platforms
• Experience leading and mentoring design teams, providing both creative direction and professional development support
• Proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard design tools
• Strong communication, storytelling, and documentation skills
• Ability to advocate for the value of a cohesive design system and ensure its adoption across the company
• Experience leading teams to deliver high-quality, market-ready designs
• Very good English skills, German skills are beneficial
