NCE DMPK preclinical Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Expert (all genders)
New Chemical Entities Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (NCE DMPK) preclinical M&S expert is a scientific and strategic role in pharmaceutical Research and Development.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering PK and PK / PD modelling to support the optimization and selection of drug candidates in preclinical projects of various modalities, including small molecules, PROTACs as well as payloads for antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).
You will devise the PK / PD strategy and use M&S to support the design of in-vitro and in-vivo pharmacology studies. You will predict human PK characteristics of drug candidates based on in-vitro and in-vivo preclinical data to estimate human efficacious exposure and dose.
Quantitative predictions of drug-drug-interactions of drug candidates employing appropriate PBPK modelling is also within the scope of the role.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of applying modelling and simulation approaches to biological problems and ideally experience in quantitative pharmacology & pharmacokinetics.
The NCE DMPK preclinical M&S expert is a member of the Discovery Project Team, depending on the phase of the project. As scientific matter expert, you represent the NCE DMPK function ensuring proper flow of information between the project, the function, and key stakeholders.
You will also contribute to / lead scientific initiatives designed to improve the M&S capabilities within our drug discovery organization.
Who you are : Education in either Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical / Biotechnological Sciences, Biomedical / Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree with 5 years in pharmaceutical / biotechnological industry or Ph.D. / Post-Doc preferably with experience in in pharmaceutical / biotechnological industry Comprehensive understanding of the concepts of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics during drug discovery & developmentStrong hands-on experience with modeling software (such as : MatLab, R, Phoenix / WinNonlin, NONMEM, Monolix etc).
Experience with the application of PBPK models to support ADME (Simcyp, Gastroplus, PK-Sim).Experience with DDI predictions using appropriate static and dynamic approaches is desirable.
Experience in Python, C / C++ and / or other programming languages would be advantageous.Good understanding of related disciplines (pharmacology, toxicology, nonclinical safety, drug design, bioanalytics, etc.
is desirable.Fluent spoken and written English, German is a plus.
