Our client are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Engineer to oversee and lead all engineering functions with their organization.
Your Main Responsibilities :
- Lead the engineering team strategically by encouraging a culture of creativity, innovation, and teamwork.
- Oversee the engineering staff's hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of engineering plans, making sure that projects are finished on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
- Serve as the main technical authority, offering direction and deciding on important engineering matters.
- Make sure that solid systems engineering procedures such as requirements analysis, systems architecture, design integration, validation, and verification are followed.
- To guarantee that the engineering systems are integrated seamlessly, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Act as the team's principal technical advisor, providing direction on cutting-edge technologies, engineering best practices, and creative solutions, particularly in the domains of aerospace, cybersecurity, and military systems that are relevant to defence.
- Ascertain that all engineering endeavours adhere to pertinent defence and governmental mandates, encompassing safety guidelines, ecological protocols, and industry accreditations.
- To guarantee the success of engineering projects, identify potential risks during the design and execution phases and create mitigation techniques.
- Perform technical risk analyses and make sure mitigation techniques are put into action.
- To ensure that engineering efforts are in line with business objectives, program goals, and client requirements, collaborate closely with senior management, program managers, and external stakeholders.
Contribute technically to contract reviews and proposals.
- Encourage R&D endeavours to maintain the organisation at the forefront of technical innovation. Investigate novel approaches and technologies to improve the efficacy, efficiency, and affordability of products.
- Keep an eye on the engineering department's spending plan to make sure resources are used efficiently. Distribute labour and technical assets among several projects in an effective manner.
Your Qualifications and Requirements :
Engineering degrees, either bachelor's or master's (mechanical, electrical, systems, aerospace, or similar discipline).
Higher education is favoured.
- Ten years or more of steadily increasing engineering experience, at least five of those years spent in a managerial or leading role, ideally in the aerospace or defence sectors.
- Proficiency in the design, integration, and principles of systems engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and technology used in the defence industry.
- Expertise in using contemporary design platforms, simulation software, and engineering tools.
- demonstrated capacity to motivate and lead interdisciplinary teams in a variety of engineering fields. strong ability to think strategically and make decisions.
- Strong communication abilities both in writing and speaking, with the capacity to explain complicated technical ideas to stakeholders who are not technical.
- Must be qualified for or possess a security clearance in accordance with the standards of the defence sector.
