Join us as Intern in our LiveOps Product & Game Design Team for Goodgame Empire! Duration: 4-6 months (full-time), option to continue as a Working Student after the internship Start: flexible Location: Hamburg or fully remote (Germany) Remuneration: 2420 € gross per month / 14 € gross per hour As an Intern in the Empire Family Live Ops Product & Game Design Team , you’ll work hands-on on long-running, successful free-to-play MMO titles such as Goodgame Empire and Empire: Four Kingdoms. This internship is designed as a practical entry point into game design and LiveOps product work in a real production environment. You’ll learn how LiveOps features, events, and economies are conceived, balanced, launched, and optimized - and how player experience, data, and business goals come together in a live MMO. With a strong mutual fit, there is a clear perspective to continue with us as a Working Student after the internship. YOUR MISSION Support the design, iteration, and documentation of LiveOps features, events and gameplay systems Assist in analyzing game data and KPIs to understand player behavior and feature performance Help optimize existing features and events based on data, player feedback and design goals Research comparable games and emerging AI-driven design/analytics approaches and contribute ideas for Live Ops and player experience improvements Collaborate with designers, developers and product stakeholders in day-to-day production work YOUR PROFILE You are an enrolled student at a German university in a relevant field such as game design, economics, mathematics, psychology, computer science, or similar Strong interest in free-to-play games, especially MMO systems, events and economies Confident working with Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools Curious, analytical mindset and interest in player motivation and data-driven decision making Passion for games across different genres Very good written and spoken English WHAT WE OFFER A paid, full-time internship for up to 6 months (compulsory internship as part of your studies can be combined with a voluntary internship), and the option to continue as Working Student afterwards Competitive compensation (internships: 2420 € gross monthly; working students: 14 € gross per hour) and a healthy work-life balance Fully remote within Germany or working from our office in Hamburg-Altona Direct mentorship and close collaboration with experienced Live Ops and Product Designers A learning-focused environment with real responsibility and exposure to live games Flat hierarchies, agile ways of working and room to grow professionally In this role, you'll join the Empire Family Team working on Goodgame Empire, Empire Four Kingdoms and future additions to the franchise. Collaborate closely with our 30+ dedicated professionals, employ your initiative and strong communication skills to seamlessly integrate your ideas into our MMO pioneer games with more than 200 million registered players worldwide and a history of more than 1bn € in revenues.
