We need your operations research, assessment, and analytical expertise to help solve complex mission challenges and deliver decision-ready insights that support U.S. Special Operations objectives.

As an Operations Research and Systems Analysis (ORSA) & Assessment Analyst, you’ll bring your experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, campaign assessment, Measures of Performance, Measures of Effectiveness, and decision support to work alongside military personnel and mission partners. You’ll help design assessment frameworks, evaluate operational outcomes, analyze partner nation capability development, and connect operations, activities, and actions to campaign objectives and commander priorities.

You’ll work across planning, operations, and intelligence teams to synthesize reporting, partner engagement data, exercise observations, and operational trends into clear findings and recommendations. Your ability to apply structured analytical methods, develop meaningful indicators, and translate complex data into actionable insights will be critical to helping senior leaders understand what is working, where gaps remain, and how to adjust future efforts.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience supporting operations research, military assessments, campaign assessment, data analysis, operational analysis, or strategic decision support

• Experience developing or applying Measures of Performance, Measures of Effectiveness, assessment frameworks, indicators, or evaluation methodologies

• Experience analyzing operational reporting, partner force development data, exercise observations, engagement outcomes, or campaign performance information

• Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis and translating findings into clear briefings, reports, dashboards, or decision-support products

• Ability to coordinate with planners, operators, analysts, and senior stakeholders to define information requirements and refine assessment approaches

• Ability to develop planning products, decision briefings, strategic estimates, assessments, and commander-ready recommendations

• Ability to coordinate across staff directorates, including components, interagency partners, or partner nation stakeholders

• TS/SCI clearance

• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience supporting a Theater Special Operations Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Africa Command, or other Geographic Combatant Command

• Experience with security cooperation, partner force development, irregular warfare, counterterrorism, or special operations campaign assessment

• Experience developing Measures of Performance, Measures of Effectiveness, campaign assessments, or investment-to-effect analysis

• Experience conducting return-on-investment analysis, investment-to-effect analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, risk analysis, or capability gap analysis

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Advana, Palantir, Maven Smart System, Mission Command System – Common Operational Picture, R, Python, SQL, or other data analysis and visualization tools

• Knowledge of African regional security dynamics, violent extremist organizations, transnational threat networks, or partner nation operational environments

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Political Science, Security Studies, National Security Studies, or a related field preferred; Master's degree in Operations Research, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Political Science, Security Studies, National Security Studies, or a related field a plus

• Completion of Intermediate Level Education, Joint Professional Military Education, Special Operations planning courses, or equivalent civilian planning education

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
