Following the award of a major new semiconductor project in Dresden, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Site-Based BIM Engineer to join our growing European operations team.This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing project team delivering one of Europe's most advanced manufacturing facilities.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Project Management Team, the Site-Based BIM Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and managing all BIM activities relating to the electrical scope of works throughout the construction phase.
The successful candidate will work closely with project management, design teams, subcontractors and the client to ensure accurate model coordination, clash detection and timely delivery of project information.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate BIM activities on site throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop, maintain and update coordinated 3D BIM models.
Carry out clash detection and model coordination using Navisworks.
Produce coordinated construction drawings and installation details.
Ensure all BIM deliverables comply with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and ISO 19650 standards.
Coordinate with Mechanical, Civil, Structural and Architectural disciplines.
Attend coordination and design review meetings with clients and consultants.
Support construction teams with model reviews and installation sequencing.
Maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) documentation and model revisions.
Produce reports on model progress, clashes and resolutions.
Assist with as-built model development and project handover documentation.
Support digital construction initiatives and continuous improvement across the project.
Essential Requirements
Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience working as a BIM Engineer or BIM Coordinator on large-scale construction projects.
Previous experience on Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or Industrial projects is highly desirable.
Excellent understanding of BIM workflows and model coordination.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary project team.
Desirable Experience
Electrical contracting experience.
Site-based BIM coordination experience.
Knowledge of laser scanning and point cloud integration.
Understanding of prefabrication and digital construction methodologies.
Previous experience working on international projects.
