City Manager Intern

Overview

Bella&Bona is a venture-capital-backed food-tech company offering a workplace food program that employees enjoy every day. We are building a category-defining company at the intersection of food, operations, and technology.

To support our expansion into new cities, we are looking for City Manager Intern in Potsdam who want to operate at the core of local operations and grow into the right hand of a City Manager.

This is not a behind-a-desk internship. You will be on the ground, in the kitchen, with the team, making sure day-to-day operations run smoothly and that every location we open starts strong.

We operate in a high-performance environment: fast, hands-on, and demanding. You'll learn how a city's operations actually work from the kitchen floor to the delivery route and you'll be trusted with real responsibility from day one.

Internship duration: 6 months, with the availability to convert to an unlimited contract afterward. Willingness to relocate is required, as this role supports our new city openings. (NRW/Hamburg)

Your mission

As City Manager Intern, your mission is to support the City Manager in keeping daily operations running smoothly and to help set new locations up for success.

This is a fast-paced, high-pressure role with real ownership and direct impact.

Your focus will be on:

• Operational support - shadowing the City Manager with day-to-day running of the kitchen and delivery operations, stepping in wherever the day needs it.
• New city launches - helping set up and stabilize operations in new locations, from logistics to team coordination.
• On-the-ground problem solving - spotting operational bottlenecks in real time and fixing them, not just flagging them.
• Team coordination - working closely with kitchen and delivery staff to keep quality and speed on track.
• Driving where needed - supporting deliveries, pickups, or site visits as part of daily operations.

You will be deeply embedded in the daily rhythm of a city's operations, and your work will directly shape how smoothly we run and how well we launch new locations.

Shift starts at 6:00 am. We operate 24/7, so willingness to work nights when needed is required

Your profile

• Operational background hands-on experience in kitchens, logistics, hospitality, or similar environments
• Culinary background is a strong plus
• Valid driving license required
• Valid visa/work permit allowing you to work in Germany
• Willing to relocate to support new city openings
• Hands-on, practical mindset - you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves
• High ownership and execution focus - you don't wait for instructions, you act
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Comfortable with AI tools and Notion
• Curious, proactive, and always looking for a better way to run the day
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
