Hauptaufgaben
- The incumbent measures, cuts, planes, and shapes lumber and timber to fabricate, repair, and erect large wooden structures such as sheds, barracks, structural partitions, framing, and scaffolding. Tasks include joining materials using various fastening techniques, finishing and preserving surfaces with oil or paint, maintaining and aligning trade tools, and securing new builds to existing facility structures.
- This duty focuses on repairing, building, and installing primary interior wooden fixtures, including standard doors, windows, frames, racks, and utility elements based on technical work orders and sketches. The role utilizes specialized joinery methods - such as mortising, tenoning, gluing, and screwing - and covers the installation and repair of parquet, linoleum, and rubber flooring systems.
- The carpenter fabricates and installs precision built-in items, including custom casings, window and door transoms, ventilator housings, cabinets, bookcases, counters, and plywood ductwork. The worker ensures all components are accurately leveled, aligned with structural elements, and prepared via trimming, drilling, and mortising for final hardware integration.
- The journeyman applies specialized caulking and filler materials around door and window casings to ensure tight weather seals. Additionally, this function involves constructing concrete forms, workbenches, tables, storage pallets, and utility bins, as well as performing other assigned duties across troop, family, and administrative facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

A4-4607-06:
Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent. The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently.
OR
8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
- Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B.
- Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency level A1 desired AND German Language Proficiency level B1 required.
