PhD Student position / Research assistant
The Endothelial Cell Biology group (AG Beerens) investigates the molecular mechanisms that control cardiovascular development and disease using advanced in vitro, zebrafish and mouse models, with subsequent validation in patient material.
We are therefore looking for a highly motivated PhD student to further investigate their role during cardiovascular development and disease.
The ideal candidate is driven, curious, and willing to work in an international team of scientists and clinicians to explore new hypotheses and insights relevant to human disease. p>
As part of the work in a DFG-funded project, a dissertation in the natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat. / PhD) is to be completed. strong>
- Writing and presenting your research results
- FACS analyses, fluorescence microscopy, immunoblotting, cell culture work, coagulation tests, ELISA, protein isolation, etc.
- Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
- Planning and execution of in vitro and animal studies

Your Profile
- Completed scientific university degree in biology, pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry or a comparable natural science degree program
- Interest in scientific issues, in particular the cardiovascular system
- Good knowledge of English and MS Office
- Ability to work in a team, commitment, flexibility, independence, coordination and organizational skills
