The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a scientific and technical higher federal authority based in Berlin.

As a departmental research institution of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, we research, test and advise on the protection of people, the environment and material goods.

Our activities in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry focus on the technical safety of products and processes.

Your tasks :

• Design, implementation, system operation and continuous further development of the WAN, LAN and WLAN network environment
• IP address management and operation of the necessary tools and related systems
• Assistance with the planning and implementation of IT projects, sub-project management
• Commissioning and supervising external service providers, monitoring and acceptance of services provided

Your qualifications :

• Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor, Diploma FH ) with a focus on computer science, business informatics, business administration or demonstrable equivalent skills and experience acquired on the basis of previous activities
• Good knowledge in the conceptual design and handling of complex network infrastructures
• Sound knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls and corresponding practical experience in these areas
• Knowledge of complex IP address management solutions based on IPv4 and IPv6
• Knowledge of Cisco ISE, DNA Center, ACI, alternatively products from other manufacturers in the network segment
• Knowledge of managing external service providers, from commissioning to acceptance
• Proven German language skills of at least C1 level are required
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to participate in an extended security check in accordance with Section 9 of the Security Check Act (SÜG) and its positive completion
• Good communication and information behavior, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative / willingness to work, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate and learn
