Hauptaufgaben

As a senior journeyman mechanic performs the full range, of overhaul and repair work normally characterized as Sustain Maintenance and Field Maintenance on wheeled and track laying heavy and special wheel equipment powered by internal combustion engines (gasoline, butane, diesel, or multi-fuel and electric

powered).

Types include those in construction and maintenance, firefighting equipment industrial or tactical use such as bulldozers, road graders, rollers, heavy-duty compressors, large generators, tractors, trucks, forklifts, electric pumps and accessory equipment and attachments.

Performs major overhaul and repair on engines, starters, clutches, differentials, carburetors, magnetos, transmissions, steering and braking systems and related electrical, hydraulic, fuel and chassis units.

Fabricates and machines parts which do not require working to close tolerances using milling machine, drill press, electric saw, shaper and buffer.

Must perform bodywork, which requires welding, soldering and straightening.

Uses specialized testing equipment, hand tools and power equipment such as motor testers, analyzers, pressure gauges, air and hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, micrometers and grinding machines.

Maintains and repairs hand, powered, or riding lawn mowers.

Sandblasting, painting and preservation of equipment are required.

Operates a vehicle requiring a German driver's license Class B and equivalent U.S. Government operator's permit.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationsanforderungen

A3-5803-05 :

Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.

Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 30 Monaten.

OR / ODER

5 years of specialized experience. / 5 Jahre einschlägige Berufserfahrung.

A3-5803-06 :

Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade

PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent.

The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently.

8 years of specialized experience

of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 05 or equivalent level.
