Senior Financial Analyst

Summary of the role

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in preparing and interpreting financial information, supporting business leaders in their decision-making process. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, interacting with business partners across 3 divisions of Nordson, Engineered Fluid Dispensing (EFD), Electronics Processing Solutions (EPS), and Medical Fluid Components (MFC) in Europe and the US. Your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected as you help drive financial performance and process improvements

Role and Responsibilities

• Supports monthly closing efforts to produce accurate and complete financial records in compliance with legal requirements, local accounting and US GAAP standards.

• Responsible for weekly tasks, e.g. Sales/Order Entry/Backlog reporting, 3rd party commissions approvals

• Supports monthly and quarterly financial reporting of the business

• Manages the division’s inventory from a financial perspective (volume, value, accuracy, depreciation, write-off)

• Supports the monthly sales forecast process and coordinates across the sales teams and division management.

• Monitors the division’s key financial metrics like sales growth, working capital, DSI, DSO etc.

• Supports the effort of establishing, monitoring, and enforcing an effective internal controls environment. Develops and takes necessary actions to support Nordson’s SOX compliance effort. Liaises with external auditors.

• Ensures the division’s compliance with Capex and Inventory policies.

• Develops and improves accounting and control policies, procedures, work processes and reporting systems to support growth and efficiency while reducing complexity and increasing speed.

• Meets corporate and divisional financial reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

• Cooperates with other division controllers and corporate functions such as Treasury, Tax, and Financial Reporting on global or regional accounting and controlling initiatives and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant job experience in finance or controlling, with the ability to independently manage tasks and processes.

• Strong analytical skills and experience in converting data into actionable business information for management.

• Experience with monthly closing, reporting, and financial analysis in an international environment.

• Proficiency in developing and improving financial processes and reporting systems (e.g., Power BI experience is a plus).

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive process improvements.

• Excellent communication skills in English; other European languages are a plus.

Travel

• Willingness to travel regularly within Europe (estimated 10-20%) and occasionally internationally to build relationships with stakeholders at various sites, including Maastricht, Valkenswaard, Erkrath, and occasional visits to US or other European locations as needed.
