Job location

In this position, you have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Germany or you can choose to work from our offices around Germany, depending on your preference.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced ABAP Developer to join our team and take on a wide variety of stimulating responsibilities, such as :

• Generating comprehensive design documents for new software features.
• Executing software development based on the reviewed design and conducting thorough developer tests to uphold code quality.
• Performing testing on newly developed software during the internal test phase (functional integration test), promptly addressing any identified issues.
• Taking responsibility for resolving issues in the software discovered during customer tests (solution acceptance test) to ensure a smooth deployment process.
• Analyzing and resolving complex issues in both existing and new code, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrating excellent development, quality, and delivery skills within scrum teams, actively contributing to short development and release cycles.
• Collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination for successful project outcomes.
• Implementing and adhering to agile software engineering methods, actively participating in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documentation.

Requirements

• A passion for writing code, the willingness to learn and an interest in Insurance.
• An academic degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Demonstrate an excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Understand the concepts of functional and object-oriented paradigms, applying them effectively in software development.
• Proficiency in ABAP, SAP HANA - Experienced in designing and developing applications and user interfaces.
• Know-how in optimizing application performance and product security.
• Experienced in collaborating with front-end developers and business analysts to translate design concepts and business requirements into functional applications.
• Be experienced in conducting unit testing and debugging to identify and fix issues in the back-end code.
• Possesses experience in following best practices for coding, version control, and documentation.
• A customer-first mindset and a strong sense of teamwork, recognizing the importance of understanding and addressing our clients’ needs while fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent proficiency in English

Nice to have :

• Knowledge in SAP ICM
• Exposure to ABAP RAP and SAP cloud technologies such as BTP and Kubernetes
• German language skills are highly advantageous
• Experience in implementing and customizing of SAPUI5 / Fiori applications
