As a Senior Data Engineer in the Content team, you'll contribute to our mission to process and deliver high quality content to other teams to enrich the experience of our users, by utilizing modern cloud technologies for batch and stream data processes.

Your Tasks

• Proactively contribute to a product that is used by millions of people each day
• Design and build data pipelines on GCP that can handle billions of events, using technologies like Google Dataflow, Google BigQuery and Apache Kafka
• Take ownership and contribute your ideas on how to bring the best and most relevant data to our users so they can make a clear decision on their next hotel booking
• Work closely with stakeholders and other teams to map business requirements into technical solutions that have a real impact
• Be a technology ambassador, spread the word, and share your knowledge among your fellow colleagues in peer exchanges, guild meetings, and meet-ups

The Technology Stack :

• Python
• Google Cloud tooling like Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub / Sub, BigQuery, and BigTable
• Apache Kafka
• Terraform
• Docker

Your Profile

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, writing clean maintainable code with a software engineering mindset
• Familiarity with building scalable and distributed data pipelines on the cloud
• Knowledge / hands-on experience in distributed systems or streaming data technologies
• Be a problem solver with sense for code quality, iterated deliveries, pragmatism, and stability
• A sincere interest in working with large amounts of data
• The ability to present complex topics in English to non-technical peers and stakeholders

Stand out with :

• Familiarity with GCP technologies like Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage
• Familiarity with data quality and data management
