Analytical Chemist (m, f, d) as Study Director for the Aquatic Ecotoxicology

Job Description

• You will coordinate chemistry projects / studies for risk assessment of chemicals (e.g., REACH substances) and plant protection products in close cooperation with the analytical chemistry and biology teams.
• You will develop and validate new extraction and residue analytical methods, amongst others with complex substances (e.

g., water-insoluble, unstable, volatile), where each new study offers a pleasant variability and challenges.

• As a Study Director or Principal Chemist, you will carry out the chemical-analytical part of aquatic ecotoxicological studies.
• You will work under the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to ensure complete documentation of all processes, so that everyone has an overview of your studies.
• At the end of a project, you will write and issue study reports in English, for submission and regulatory approval of chemicals and plant protection products.
• You will be in constant contact with internal and external customers to establish and maintain numerous close relationships.

Qualifications

• have successfully completed a scientific degree in chemistry, food chemistry or related fields
• have in-depth knowledge of analytical equipment such as GC-MS / MS and HPLC-MS / MS
• have knowledge in the field of analytical chemistry of problematic substances (e.g., insoluble in water, unstable, volatile)
• are independent, structured, meticulous but have a pragmatic way of working
• are an enthusiastic learner
• have a very good command of English
• German skills (spoken and written) would be advantageous but can also be learned
