Role Insight
EIT RawMaterials GmbH, in collaboration with various partners, is at the forefront of innovation in the rare earths sector.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Analyst in Responsible Sourcing (m / f / d) to join our team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our capabilities in mapping stakeholders and activities in the rare earths sector, i.
e., across Europe and globally, and in driving the development of top-tier business intelligence consulting services.
What You Will Do
In this position, your main tasks will include :
- Project Contribution - Participate actively in the EU project MAGELLAN to enhance Europe's rare earths and magnets capacities through innovation, strategic collaborations, and sustainability initiatives aligned with the European Green Deal.
- Responsible Sourcing - Rare Earth Elements from natural resources and End-of-Life Products : Support the development of responsible sourcing practices by reviewing collection schemes, material flows, and compliance standards.
- Assist in reviewing databases of mining projects and refineries globally and within the EU to ensure responsible sourcing and sustainability.
- Sustainability Analysis - Collaborate with partners to analyze the current state of sourcing and sustainability practices for primary and secondary raw materials.
Identify barriers and suggest policy improvements.
- Impact Management - Lead initiatives to establish cross-project cooperation with European projects, e.g. design cooperation plans, organize virtual meetings and workshops, facilitate consultations with the European Commission, and maintain project ecosystem maps.
- Value Chain Analysis - Identify and analyze needs and gaps in the EU's Rare Earths value chain.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Utilize established networks to enhance our stakeholder base, including industry and academic leaders in the REE domain.
- Mapping and Infrastructure - Map out key players and technical infrastructure across Europe, focusing on Rare Earth Elements.
- Data System Support - Aid in the development and maintenance of a sophisticated business intelligence system for data storage and analysis.
- Data Analysis - Collect and analyze sector-specific data, including mining, processing, and environmental impact assessments.
- Visualization and Reporting - Design visual representations of data and compile detailed reports that influence strategic decisions.
Requirements
Who We Are Looking For
Ideal candidates will possess :
- Educational Background - Master’s degree in materials science, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
- Sector Experience - Prior experience and interest in raw materials and advanced material applications.
- Technical Skills - High proficiency in digital tools and IT systems necessary for data analysis and presentation.
- Project Management - Experience managing complex projects; familiarity with EU Horizon projects is preferred.
- Educational Initiative Management - Skills in organizing and directing educational and stakeholder engagement events like workshops and webinars.
- Analytical Abilities - Strong capability to perform detailed analysis and generate actionable insights.
- Communication Skills - Excellent proficiency in English is required; additional languages such as French or German are beneficial.
- Collaboration and Independence - Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
