Technical Sales Manager Personal Care Germany (English and German speaking!)
OUR CLIENT
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager based in Germany, where you will be joining a leading company selling chemical performance products to industrial customers.
They create competitive advantages for their clients by optimizing their processing operations by means of suitable special raw materials and improving the properties of their products.
THE ROLE
The right candidate will run all day-to-day sales operations, expand and maintain their business to achieve the planned local sales targets.
Support their own customer and supplier base as well as acquire new customers and regularly develop the product portfolio, especially technical advice with a focus on active ingredients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively works with customers to understand and meet their needs; technical support, brings back observations on trends and new developments, manages customer pricing towards agreed DB target, manages customer projects / project funnel towards agreed DB target.
- Grows customer portfolio in focus markets and expands the winning customer base, focuses on A+B customers, and passively grows non-core markets.
- Increases the share of wallet as well as cross-selling rate with existing customers, supports the use of digital sales platforms for C customers.
- Supports selling by making the best use of their value proposition. Actively participates in fairs, conferences and other customer events.
- Supports best in class customer service.
SKILLS
- Technical Bachelor’s or master’s degree in natural science, cosmetics, Life Science, optional : additional business qualification.
- Minimum 2 years working experience in international sales roles in the chemical industry, ideally experience in the sale of cosmetic active ingredients.
- Proficient in all relevant sales topics.
- Good knowledge of the personal care market & product knowledge.
- Ideally good technical and regulatory understanding.
- Project Management.
- Strong commercial acumen and skills, customer orientation.
- Excellent team worker.
- High degree of self-responsibility and flexibility.
- Willingness to learn.
- Negotiation skills, versed communicator, able to close deals.
- Fluent in English and German. French and Italian are a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
- MS Office & SAP R3 & S4Hana.
