Are you eager to shape the future of renewable energy by leading grid planning initiatives?
My client is seeking a Grid Planner to spearhead their grid pipeline management in Germany! The ideal candidate will be based near Berlin, with the flexibility for remote work based on qualifications.
Role Responsibilities :
- Proactive Grid Support : Independently facilitate large-scale solar PV projects from development to construction, focusing on grid-related matters :
- Development Phase : Oversee the entire grid application process for solar PV projects in the country.
- Cultivate relationships with local grid stakeholders, both public and private.
- Collaborate with the Solar Project Development Team to identify areas with current or future grid availability.
- Offer technical guidance to Project Developers during the development phase.
- Assist in technical planning for grid-side project execution (mast replacement, substation construction, etc.).
EPC Planning and Construction Phase :
- Negotiate and finalize grid agreements and relevant permits for the solar PV project pipeline.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to optimize grid connection arrangements.
- Support equipment commissioning and network operator coordination during project processing.
Collaboration with Power Sales / PPA Origination Team :
Identify suitable locations for private wire projects and secure necessary agreements and permits for cable pooling, private wire connections, battery storage, and more.
Subject Matter Expertise :
- Serve as the go-to expert for grid connections of medium and high voltage systems and medium-voltage lines.
- Stay updated on policy changes affecting grid connections.
General Responsibilities :
- Contribute to knowledge development and drive best practices for a competitive edge.
- Foster relationships within the renewable energy sector to acquire projects at various development stages.
- Senior Management Reporting : Provide regular reports on grid project status, progress, timelines, quality, feasibility, risks, and budgets.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Demonstrated expertise in grid planning, ideally within large-scale renewable projects.
- Proficiency in medium and high voltage range of the national supply grid
- Thorough understanding of transmission and distribution networks and relevant grid connection processes.
- Existing contacts with local network operators preferred.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial skills.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft applications (MS Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GIS mapping tools (e.g., Google Earth).
- Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluent in German and proficient in English.
