Position Overview : The Senior Underwriter for Property and Casualty Insurance will assume a pivotal role within the underwriting department, leveraging a decade of industry experience to assess risks, evaluate applications, and ensure profitability.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct comprehensive underwriting assessments for property and casualty insurance applications, applying advanced analytical skills to evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage.
• Collaborate closely with brokers, agents, and clients to understand their needs, negotiate terms, and maintain strong relationships.
• Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve profitability targets while remaining competitive in the market.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, adapting underwriting practices accordingly.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior underwriters, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in claims, finance, and other departments to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in property and casualty underwriting, demonstrating a track record of success.
• Fluent in German with proficient communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical abilities, with the capacity to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Leadership qualities and a demonstrated potential to transition into a management role.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, ACII, or equivalent are advantageous.
