Department Overview :

Our dedicated Project Management Team at RLB are responsible for overseeing projects through from the initial planning stages to completion & operation.

Their main task is to break down projects into stages, taking responsibility for monitoring and managing the programme, cost, quality and risk of each stage of the project.

We are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Industrial & Logistics, Commercial, Residential, Education, Data Centres, Mixed Use, Infrastructure, Retail and Healthcare clients and projects.

Our Project Managers work closely with our clients, advising them on legal, procurement, programme, statutory, risk, technical and financial matters that arise during the project.

Our European Project Management team has grown considerably over the past few years and now has over 20 Project Managers, and our staff retention rate is excellent due to our ongoing commitment to provide our employees with a rewarding and enjoyable career.

Overview of Role :

We are currently searching for a Senior Project Manager with Industrial & Logistics experience to join a client focused team in Germany and be the key driver of a significant high profile multi-million Euro project.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to join and strengthen our team, and to take responsibility for providing all services relating to project management on this marquee project.

Key Responsibilities / Duties :

• To lead and oversee the successful delivery of significant I&L projects (in conjunction with the support of Project Management Partners) with a view to securing repeat business.
• Assembling design teams.
• Site acquisition and technical due diligence.
• Interviewing Main Contractors, undertaking tender analysis and reporting to clients with recommendations.
• Regular reporting to clients and internal client teams.
• Proactive management of multi-disciplinary internal and external teams.
• Contract Administration (which requires a good understanding of building contracts).
• Implementation and management of a change control process.
• Coordination of the testing and commissioning process prior to handover.
• Offering technical advice on the most appropriate procurement methods for the project
• Co-ordination of Civil and Infrastructure (Highways, Utilities) works inc liaison with German statutory bodies i.e. Local Authorities
• To support in the management of the on-site Project management team including line management duties as appropriate
• To support and develop our I&L team working on new high profile I&L projects.
• To support and develop targeted marketing material, bid documents, capability statements and attend networking events relating to I&L.
• To support the Project Management Partners in developing a pipeline of I&L opportunities.
• To actively participate and support in the development of fee proposals and responses to RFPs.
• To participate in Business Development activities where required.
• To attend Client interviews as required securing new Clients.
• To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances.
• To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures.
• Comply with established procurement / commercial / contractual strategies.
• Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.

Person Specification :

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in an Industrial & Logistics environment and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

Technical - Understands technical aspects of project delivery from inception to post-completion and is able to identify and promote solutions.

Can advise on contractual matters and procurement routes to clients.

Financial Management - Ability to manage and update WIP sheets and administer Quality Assurance.

Behaviours - Recognised as a positive, collaborator who shares knowledge freely and offers support to their peers. Recognised as a team player within a project environment with a strong willingness to learn.

Experience Industrial & Logistics including Civil Infrastructure (Highways, Utilities), plus previous engagement with German statutory bodies i.e. Local Authorities

Required Experience :

• Fluent in German
• Strong technical delivery experience gained within a consultancy, contractor or end user environment
• Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
• Strong track record in project management managing projects from inception to completion
• Track record of working with stakeholders
• Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
• Able to build long-term relationships
• A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
• Excellent customer service, communication and client / external interface skills.
