Position Overview : They are currently seeking a detail-oriented Demand Planner to be based in Stuttgart, Germany. The Demand Planner will be instrumental in optimising inventory levels and forecasting product demand, ensuring the efficiency of their supply chain operations.
This role requires close collaboration with various teams to develop accurate demand forecasts and to drive initiatives for continuous supply chain improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and update demand forecasts for specific product lines, utilising historical sales data, market trends, and insights from the sales and marketing departments.
- Engage with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather essential data for informing demand forecasts and production planning.
- Monitor inventory levels and analyse demand patterns to identify risks and opportunities for optimizing inventory management.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure timely delivery of materials necessary for production.
- Lead regular cross-functional meetings to discuss demand forecasts, address supply chain issues, and devise action plans for identified discrepancies.
- Establish and maintain KPIs to track the accuracy of demand planning, inventory turnover, and other relevant supply chain metrics.
- Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving the processes, systems, and tools used in demand planning.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that could affect demand forecasts and supply chain operations.
- Regularly report to management on demand planning activities, inventory status, and overall supply chain performance.
Ideal Background : Education :
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields; an advanced degree is preferred.
Experience :
- At least 5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or related roles, ideally within the medical device or healthcare sector.
- Demonstrated ability in managing demand forecasts, optimising inventory levels, and enhancing supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with demand planning software and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is highly advantageous.
Skills :
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of handling complex data and generating actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
Languages :
Fluent in both English and German; additional language skills are beneficial.
