As Project Manager you are responsible both for the acquisition of new projects and for the implementation and the financial backstopping of on-going projects in the field of Employment promotion and Education.
Besides the work in our headquarters, you will travel abroad regularly for project set-ups and for backstopping missions and short-term expert assignments.
Your tasks :
- You support the development of financial proposals at tender stage
- You handle the financial project set-up in the project country and in headquarters
- You exchange with clients, beneficiaries, consortium partners and experts during project implementation
- You contract experts and local staff and you are responsible for processing their invoices
- You ensure compliance of project procedures according to GOPA and client specifications
- You prepare the invoices to the client (including expenditure verification audits)
- You undertake project missions with the aim of measuring project progress and supporting the project team on site
- You ensure a proper financial closure of projects
A BACKGROUND THAT CONVINCES US
Your profile :
- Relevant Academic Background : You hold a relevant academic degree in business administration or a related field, or you have completed commercial training with a financial background.
- Language Proficiency : Excellent English language skills are mandatory, and solid knowledge of French is also required.
- Analytical Skills : You have strong analytical skills in budget planning, project implementation, and budget monitoring.
- Technical Proficiency : You have sound user knowledge of the MS Office package, and knowledge of an ERP system is an asset.
- Experience : You have strong experience, minimum of 5 years, in the financial and administrative management of development projects
- Financial Acumen : You have a high interest in figures and a commitment to the continual improvement of departmental results.
- Donor Procedures : Experience with donor procedures and requirements, such as those of the EU and GIZ, is considered a strong asset.

Local Presence : Though we are an international and flexible team, this role requires someone to be primarily based at our headquarters due to the specific needs of the position.
