Currently, the three product areas of video systems, access control & intrusion detection systems and communication systems as well as the associated cross-divisional functions within the division are to be set up as an independent unit and then further developed as a sustainable core business by a new owner.
- International and interdisciplinary cooperation : As Data Center Network Expert, you will be part of the new company to be set up in the future and thus contribute to a globally networked team of around 4300 colleagues operating in over 50 countries.
- In your position, you will be accountable for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance and optimization of the data center infrastructure and network systems in close collaboration with external service providers, managing data center capacity planning.
- Improving the network architecture (topology) to support organizational requirements, including LAN, WAN, data center networks, cloud connections and remote users is part of your responsibilities.
- In addition, you will be responsible for implementing security measures to protect the network infrastructure from unauthorized access, data breaches and cyber threats, working closely with the CISO and cyber intelligence experts to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Proactively monitor network health, performance metrics, and security events; analyse network traffic patterns; identify performance bottlenecks;
and optimise network configurations for improved efficiency and reliability.
- You are responsible for developing and maintaining disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) plans for the data center and network infrastructure and performing regular DR / BC testing to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a disaster.
- Last but not least, you will manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers and contractors to procure hardware / software, participate in contract negotiations and ensure service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education : completed university studies in information technology or a comparable subject
- Experience and Knowledge : several years of professional experience in the design and implementation of disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) solutions for network infrastructure and data centre operations, as well as vendor relationship management, technology vendor evaluation and procurement of network hardware, software and services;
Knowledge of network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS), VPNs and access control mechanisms, as well as cloud networking concepts and technologies, including public, private and hybrid cloud architectures and their integration with on-premise network infrastructure
- Personality and Working Practice : You are persuasive, able to work under pressure, organised and have good argumentation and communication skills at all levels of the organisation
- Languages : business fluent in written and spoken German and English
