Overseas Contingent III, (100% FTE, Full-Time), Grade 003
The Multimedia Designer will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and create visual content for various platforms, including print, web, and video.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts. Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material, copy, and select style and size of type.
Skills required include proficiency in graphic design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite ), video editing tools (like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro ), and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Establish design project priorities, coordinate content production schedules, communicate the status to the marketing team and other stakeholders.
Writing, designing, and preparing for publication informational materials including newsletters, calendars, brochures, flyers, CANVA templates, special advertising posters, schedules, business cards, and other promotional print materials.
Coordinate with staff globally to create results-oriented communications. Leverage best practices and be a thought leader and contributor to global brand standards.
Assisting with numerous special projects - many organized on a one-time basis.
Develop and execute video and media products for internal and external audiences, championing the UMGC brand identity and integrating a strong brand message in all developed materials.
Perform video editing functions including graphic and motion graphic creation, music selection, audio editing, and video / audio finishing.
Ensure all work is within campaign, brand standards, and graphic guidelines.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field from a regionally accredited institution or foreign degree equivalent
Ability to set priorities, work independently and work well under pressure.
Knowledge of word processing, graphic design and print media specifications and video content creation.
Knowledge of current Internet technology is required.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Specifically : ability to spell, edit, proofread, and organize information for publication.
Good interpersonal skills and high tolerance for ambiguity.
Will be required to work specific annual events, Commencement.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must have or be eligible for SOFA.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Master's degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field from a regionally accredited institution or foreign degree equivalent
Two (2) or more years of graphic design experience. Cover letter and portfolio of work required.
